Yes. Local from where i'm born, tradition used to be (for boys) 1 middle name is name of godfather, 1 is name from grandfather, and 1 name is godmother's name. My grandmother was my godmother. So i got that name from her. It's a tradition that flow out of when you get christened as a baby.  So where i'm from, most boys (of my generation and the ones befor me) have 1 girlsname and most girls have 1 boysname.

It's one of those 'fading' traditions now.  Soon i think it will excist no more. Lucky kids these days ;)

You got a point there  :P .

I always laugh when they ask me how we came up with my daughter's name. It means 'made in Brittain'. When i read it, i said to wife; 'that's it! That's going to be her name!'
We both liked the name right away anyway..........And it's true bwahahaha  :D .

friends of my parents had a child who decided to become a new age traveller - she and her partner named their daughter.... hedgehog. surname fisher....

and i had a penpal once called sandy haddock.  :-\

 :-\ my maiden name was Blight and my initial being A did mean I came in for a bit of ribbing here and there, not that I cared in the slightest, lol  ::)

My friend has the surname Fagg  :-X I sent an invitation to her boys once, Benjamin and Harry - I just put the initials  ;D Didn't realise what I'd done til after I'd written it though  :D
