Icey update
« on: September 27, 2008, 08:41:52 PM »
As you may remember my old girl icey has a grade 5 heart murmer. Took kavik in to vet today as he cut his foot on some metal on a walk :(. whilst there i asked if the vet would check icey over  as she has been having little coughs when out on walks & sounding a bit chesty when she tries to have a run around  as possibly needs medication for fluid build up . He  listened to her heart & checked her groin pulse which was ok, also looked at her gums & said they were pale so is going to chat to iceys usual vet to discuss her condition & look at x-rays again to see what to do next. will hear from them monday hopefully, so not great news but to be expected i guess.

She seems to cough occasionally when out on a walk or wandering around house but its only the odd 1 cough then will not do it for a day , so don't think its a severe cough but i have been hearing it lately so let vet know .

Thanx everyone, no coughs today , still loves her tennis ball to chew on, she still thinks shes a young lass i think  ;)

saw vet tonight, ice has lost some weight, can feel hip bones, ribs easily. No medication at present required as not coughing enough to need it. He said she has a slow pulse  it was 80 bpm, but i thought that was a normal amount  for an adult dog.  ???
