Oh....that'll be it.
It's supposed to stop malicious downloads, but it's a bit over enthusiastic.
It creates a fake registry.
I didn't think of that as mine is already off.....I couldn't upload to my own site with it on.
Try turning it off & rebooting.

Turning it off won't effect the browser security settings.

Use EITHER Norton or Avast, not both.....you only need one anti virus, more than that conflict with each other.

I've got Avast anti Virus, Zone Alarm firewall & SUPERantispyware running on Vista, with no problems.

I'll be back with a link to test your security in a minute.

just added it to my trusted sites instead, and it still wouldnt do anything. ggrr.

i had zone alarm and avast but i got persuaded to install norton and avast wouldnt uninstall only update cos it asked uninstall/update as one question not either or.
will try uninstalling again or maybe uninstall norton.

thanks, would like to test my security.

This is the link to check your security....ideally all ports should be in stealth mode...but if (like me) you are using a wireless router..Port 22 will show as closed.

I'd turn off protected mode & see if P.B works.

right, back and used the site and
one port stealth and the rest closed.
not ideal but better than them being open, other than knowing that i ahve no idea what that means, what a port is or how to stealth it. ho hum.

looked at cookies and photobucket is in there.

as i previously said, i can go as far as clicking on the photo to load and the photo window just disappears. no 'warning' or reason given. odd.

i'm going to get a man in i think. i have a tame one, his charges are good too.

thanks again woofums. im giving up on it for the moment and post with a description instead of picture.
