« on: November 05, 2008, 08:08:03 PM »
Can anyone tell me what actually happens, Kodi not keen on vets, last time she went was when she had KC and she wee'd on the floor she was so frightened :(  I do take her in when I get Dex weighed but she cant wait to get out of the door, should I maybe give her some rescue remedy in the morning before we go?

Far as I'm aware would be a detailed exam of the eye with a scope - like they do for people - and possibly some drops in the eye 1st. Unless it's glaucoma too but it shouldn't be for dobes.  :-\ But it does mean head to head which might be stressful for her if she's not too keen - the rescue remedy sounds like a good plan.  :) Don't know if there's anything additional - don't breed, never had one done, sorry.  :)

Jay could you get some DAP spray or a collar, may help ;)

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away

Drops first to enlarge the pupil then he/she will look into the eye.
I would not think she will be a problem with a large lump of liver these eye guys do all sorts of breeds

Yep thats the guy ;D

Hope he's not as abrupt as the letter I got with the appt letter, I take it quite a few people are late, take bitches in season or dont turn up at all, his letter wasnt a happy one :scared:
Am leaving in plenty of time so hopefully he'll be in a good mood :D

Dont have my car back till friday lunchtime, so cant get out to get anything DAP, maybe I'll just give her a couple of drops of RR, then see if she'll stand like in the ring, have liver so will take a BIG chunk
thanks :)

He's very nice.  Breeds gundogs himself.  You can park right outside in a safe carpark and take your dogs in at the last minute if it helps.  :)

Drops in eyes, go into room, turn all the lights out, and peer into mince pies with opthalmoscope.

If you are relaxed the dog will be unless you have an unpredictable one..............

Arrow did not bat an eyelid (sorry) :D and he is a high drive GSD SchH 3 Dog!  :ok:
