Cesar Milan tour

Ok, so if you didn't know he's coming to england  ::)  and is going to be dealing with problem dogs live on stage!!!  :o  I can't believe the crap that im hearing about this, how can he 'train' a reactive, aggressive dog on a stage in front of thousands of people?!

Also heard him on steve wright the other day, steve was pressing him for an explanation of his techniques, rolling, prong collars etc.  You know what, he couldn't (or wouldn't) give a straight answer about why he feels the need to do these kinds of things  >:(

Why don't people actually teach their dogs the right way to do things, instead of scaring them into not doing them?!!  ??? ??? ::) ::)  :boooo: :boooo:

I doubt if he does "train" them on stage.  He will demonstrate techniques and reactions.

This method can be very useful.  Geert de Bolster an internationally reknowned trainer and behaviourist who specialises in aggression came over from Belgium a couple of years ago and did two 3 day workshops on this at Learning About Dogs.  It was very useful both for those who came with dogs and the many people who came to spectate and learn.

I always find it useful to go and experience things for myself before I make generalised statements about the possibility of things............. ;)

ps I am not a fan of CM but neither do I believe he is the Devils Spawn.

This is the second topic on CM on this board both have started out in the same vein.
Unless you have seen something in the flesh it's best not to assume what you see on the TV or read in the press is too be believed.
Give the guy a chance not everything in this world is black and white

Saw enough on video "behind the scenes" stuff at college to know what I believe.  Have read a couple of his books too - he is a bully

He makes some excellent points in his book IMHO, and like everyone else, he has his good and bad points; techniques that are worth following and others that are not advisable, certainly not by novices.

The words, baby and bathwater come to mind.
