Hi everyone!

I know I've not posted much lately, it's been very quiet on here but I've been so busy, working more hours now and doing coursework! I do look on here most days though so trying to keep up with you all
Hope you are all well anyway
Piper's not too good at the moment - she appears to have torn her cruciate ligament and has been referred to an orthapoedic surgeon, her appointment is on the 8th April
She'll be having x-rays and if it is that will have the operation. I've been in two minds over the alst few weeks as to whether or not to go ahead with it but after discussions with others and advice have decided to go for it. She's only 6 and in good health generally so should get through it ok fingers & paws crossed

Poop Piper
One of our old family dogs had the op and was fine afterwards, just have to keep her calm for a while while she recovers

Piper's gone in today, looks like she will have operation, to be confirmed after x-rays, so waiting to hear
She'll be in over night if it goes ahead so it's going to be far too quiet here

What a day!! Don't fancy going throught that again!
She staying in overnight, op went well, just a couple of little things the vet wants to look into. He thought it was a possibility she has vWD as she got a hematoma on the sight of the prick test in her mouth during surgery, the test where they check that their blood clots quick enough!! Anyway during the op her blood clotted fine and surgery went really well. Sue checked for me and her dad was vWD clear, mum was a carrier so Piper has a 50% chance of being a carrier. A blood test will confirm this. They have found her platelets to be slightly low too so they are looking into that also
She's recovering well and we pick her up tomorrow morning - can't wait, it's far too quiet without her here
Spoke to Bev and she thinks platelets could be low due to stress!
