Introducing Rooney!!!

Ok we hated not having a pooch around, it's been far too quiet and although we still miss our beautiful Piper so much we decided to rescue a Staffie
With some help from Claire we found this boy, he's about a year old and was called Henry! We picked him up this evening and the new name is very apt as when we got him home he showed a total obsession for footballs
We had to take it away in the end and hide them all, going to need some help with this one as my two boys are footie crazy
Anyway after we hid the balls he started to repsond to us alot more and calmed right down! He had a bath cos he pen and inked
Went for a walk - needs a little work on the lead but nothing major, he comes to me whe recalled in the garden but I shalln't be letting him off yet
He sits, gives paw, then the other paw, takes his biscuit very gently, he waits for his dinner patiently and only started to eat once I gave the ok. He jumps up at the kitchen table and the work tops so we'll be working on that. Cries a little when left in the kitchen but settles after a few minutes
He a lttle sweetie, hopefully he'll settle over night
He loves attention and fusses and giving sloppy kisses
He has the most horrendous wind
God knows what he's been fed but we'll soon sort that out!!!!!
So here he is

give it a week or so, remember all change for him too and he might be stressed about it. I would keep him on the lead for a good couple of months until you are sure that there is nothing that "triggers" unexpected behaviour. From having Elsa just when you think you have them sussed something else gets thrown in just to keep you on your toes.
give him a month or so to settle then get Bev in for a few days.
she will see stuff that you or I couldnt see even if we had a manual!!!
Love that the house is poochy again
house not a home without at least one pooch

Thank you
He was great overnight, few whimpers when I went to bed but only for a few minutes
He's been a bit sick but it's been quite muggy here
He had breakfast then we went for a walk with my friend and her 2 Springers and they got on fine, enjoyed his walk, been chilling out today in and out the garden. Popped out a few times this afternoon and he's been fine left alone
He has been marking his territory in the kitchen a few times, washing it with bio washing powder and also bought some Wash and Get Off spray to use
He loves to be with us, Claire told me they share similarities with Dobes when it comes to being people dogs, so right, he's most definately a people dog

Good luck with him, looks like he is very food orientated which will help with training
Bet the kids are over the moon to have him.

Thanks
Yes kids, especially Mitchell love him
Went to our frineds for a BBQ today, left him for a couple of hours then came home for him and took him to our friends. They have a Retriever called Charlie and they got on ok in the garden. Only one little grizzle round the table but they were playing and eating together fine. A couple of footballs laying around the garden which Rooney ignored most of the time then had a look at but I told him leave and he came a way. Chased a cat out the garden
We hid one football in the shed as he got hold of it and he worked out how to open the sliding door to the shed
A firm get out and leave worked though
He wanted to get to the kids playing football in the park behind the garden
His canines are worn down pretty much and I'm convinced this is through repeated leather football play!!!
He totally knackered now, snoring his head off
