Val or Suz
« on: June 01, 2010, 12:06:50 PM »
I have to clip Jess' coat, its blown big time and looks horrendous.  :-X esp with the patches from her visit to the RVC

There arent any decent groomers round here who would just clip her nicely without making her look like she is sheared, so recommendations on clippers please?
(Am going to get lessons from Livs breeder  ;))

does it def need clipping - you got any pics?

if you have to then i have andis clipers well actually got pair of different cordless ones now - but for cheapish clippers that run well and will do the job andis, single speed are cheapest and should do you just for jess, blade wise well dunno bout val buyt if I HAVE to clip a springer mine vary from a 4f or a 5f or a 7f - val dont die but i even have one who has a 10f all over  ::) but i wouldnt advise that lol!

She def needs something Suz, they shaved her belly for the ultrasounds

her feathers on her front legs were cut off in bits, so have had to trim the rest of them (badly)

she has a big patch on one side that is slowly growing back.

There might be some updated pics on my facebook, if not will get some uploaded as soon as I can

If you clip a springer it's hell to get the coat back   :boooo:
I do some of the spayed fluffy sort on a 4f or 5f.
Tidy her feathers and be patience Izzie thats my advice

If it just the shaved bits that look bad then i agree be patient they will soon grow back  ;) I know it seems to take forever poor Fritz had right round his front leg shaved by his delightful vet  ::) it still super short even more than 3 months on!!

Her coat had started to blow before the shaving, but her butt and back legs look like a burst pin cushion.

Tried a fuminator but it makes it worse on her coat.

There about 1/2 an inch difference between the shaved patches and her normal coat  :-\

She got a mane where the hair is various sizes and some has gone curly

Thin her down with thinning scissors thats the best way, far better than clipping once you have clipped you will have to keep clipping, not a good idea as she will also loose her guard hairs, clippers take no prisoners LOL
