Swimming injury?
« on: June 14, 2010, 09:42:03 PM »
Nacho is a bit poorly this evening.  He was swimming yesterday and on his way out the river he was hanging his head to one side.  I didnt think too mudge about it just that perhaps he had some water in his ear  :-\  He came out gave himself a good shake and we carried on walking with no sign of anything wrong.  Last night he was a bit grumpy and let out a few wee crys but nothing major.  I gave him a good look over - no hot spots not flinching at anything.

He seemed okay this morning - moving and stretching as usual.  Tonight he is lacklustre and have had a few cries again.  He is walking holding his head lower than usual.  He doesnt appear to be in any pain when touching him anywhere.

Just going to keep an eye on him over the next day or so and if it continues or gets worse then a visit to Owen will be in order.  Concerned his back injury might be returning and that gives him significant pain.

Please think positive thoughts for him.

Hope he's better soon :-*

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away

he seems a bit better tonight - he is on complete rest and isnt complaining but mobility is getting better - think he just needs to take it a bit easy -

Thanks for support guys - it helps  :-*

We are off on holiday next week to Ireland so hopefully after this week resting he will be up for lots of quality time and some nice walks

Have you thought of contacting Cheryl/Gracie as she runs a hydrotherapy unit?

With her training she should be able to help you?

Hope Nacho is feeling better,
tis hubby that has done all hydrotherapy training, but we can't diagnose what is wrong etc. Not sure what was up with Nachos back injury must have missed that post mudge when busy with uni/baby... but cold water swimming ie river swimming not good for muscles it makes them stiffen up.  :)

he had soft tissue damage about a year ago between discs -  it flares up every now and then - not sure it was this this time - think the weather saps the energy too when it is this hot - tend to go early morning or late evening when it is cooler.

He back to normal now
