Wrong end of the day for much thinking but off the top of my head I would start with the dehydration in the spine that can cause dogs to be in great pain, if this dog has been the given pain killer loved of vets good old Rimadylthat can make some dogs sick and to have loose motions.
I would suggest this dog needs an MRI to see how bad the spine is plus it will show a different angle on the other organs

i would say dog is showing IBD as a symptom...so would be thinking of asking vet to test for canine crohns or the intestinal lymph watsit  ::) sorry can't remember the rest of the word...will go google in a mo...wheatens get it...but so do other breeds...brain shut down.. ::)
how long it been going on...has the dog lost weight...?

been on going since at least 14 Nov

He has lost weight, refusing nearly all food, gone from a greedy guts to not wanting anything

started that it was his spine, pain was in there, then other symptoms kicked in over the last few weeks. Sickness and runs is very recent though

he been at vets and hospital, MRI done but didnt show anything untoward up

INTESTINAL LYMPHANGIECTASIA

one of the obvious symptons is fatty poo...

but unless the do faecal test they cannot rule out parasite...

needs more tests and needs a biop me thinks...

waiting on owner to get back to me about fecal testing and asked her about that.

Its the spine that seems to be the main issue, as he is ok one minute, then suddenly starts screaming his head off the next

the vets put him on diazipan to calm him down

yep...sure could be the spine but IBD would also cause intermitant pain...what was the result of the spine scan?
