lol lassie...its a toast

may the best you have ever seen
be the worst you will ever see
may a mouse never leave your girnal
with a tear drop in his eye
may you always keep hale and hearty
till you are old enough to die
may you always be just as happy
as we wish you always to be

a girnal is the chest to keep the oats in...a mouse leaving it with a tear drop in his eye means it was empty  :)

hope you all buried your treasure...

a penny a pinch of tea and a bit of coal, wood or peat  ;D ;D
ami dug ours up last year...brought the tea bag and coal back indoors haha reckon thats why i had a shite year

Basically means hope for a new year - that when life is at is best it is the worst it is ever going to get - that you always have health and food and be happy - note there is no mention of wealth!!!

Health and your needs being met should be enough for us to be happy.  But we are a greedy nation so always want more.

2011 taught me to be grateful for everything you have and everyone you hold dear - I may not have all I want but I always have enough for my needs to be met.  I have a wonderful husband and some wonderful friends and a loving close relationship with the joy of my life James (and of course last but not least - my wonderful pooch)  A happy pooch is a happy mudge.

Happy New Year everyone - here's to health and happiness  :-* and for the giving and receiving of support when we need it  ;)
