fletch saw the specialist – as well as having an op monday to sort the prolapsed glands, it turns out he has no lower tear ducts – vet said is a tiny possibility they are just well out of sight but she even put drops in and is fairly certain he doesnt have any power tear ducts so at the same time they are going to make him some new ones as the tearing on his face is out of control as the tears have no where to go.

she will be flushing them through first to check that they arnt hidden and if they are sort the blockage but is most likely the op will be needed to make him new ones.

    gutted really poor sod.

Fletch had his check up today – they confirmed he has a mild infection in both eyes, so he has drops for that – unfortunately they also confirmed the lower tear ducts arnt flushing through – and they should be , the tearing on his face is worse and def no better. She put some dye in and left it but nope – they tried to flush it through with water from a needle ( a thin rubber one lol) but she couldnt see hole properly said its all very tight in there which is unusual apparently, anyway she tried but eventually he just had enough and was getting quite upset ( hes been so good too we didnt push it i dont want him hating his eyes/face being touched¬!)

so he goes back monday and they will check to see if if they are working as it might be the infection thats blocking them – if not they will probably have to sedate him and flush them through whiles hes under and see whats going on.

🙁 the bill must be pushing £1000 now!!

Ohyessss… I keep forgetting there is something like insurance for pets overthere. Well that’s a good thing, Suz. Imagine living over here with poor pooch, as we don’t have prt insurance  . It is a little end of the tunnel, nothing to do with the infection but still.  😉
