About us

Hello, welcome to BRANTWOOD, we are Tony and Alice Scanlon from Bradford, West Yorkshire. The following is a short potted history about us and our special little people. We have owned, bred and shown Cavaliers for almost 20 years. Only parti colours are bred at Brantwood. We give lifetime guarantees on all puppies and offer advice to new or prospective owners. Visitors are always welcome by prior arrangement.

We both judge the breed at up to Open Show and also judge the Toy Group plus some Utilities. We were the founders of Yorkshire Junior Handlers and still have a strong commitment to the young people, taking great pleasure when they attain success both in and out of the ring. Alice was breed consultant and features writer for Pet Dogs magazine for twelve years until it's recent closure, she holds a credit pass in the Certificate in General CanineStudies and the Judging Diploma from the Canine Institute.

Our foundation bitch was a stunning little Blenheim, Haylea ( Haymaker of Rhybank x Teazle of Tangley). We will be forever grateful to Heather Fereday for allowing us to have Haylea who was in a word the QUEEN. Haylea was twelve when she died but left us a wonderful legacy in her descendants. We currently have Nell (B.Little Nell) who at twelve is still very fit and healthy. Nell's twin daughters (B.Beaujolais and Frazzanti) - Jolly & Frizzy are ten this year. Our very special girl Fleur (B.Fleurie) is well just Fleur and just wonderful, she is the mother of Toddy and the Hamish.

Our four year Blenheim dog (Brantwood Trousseau) seen below is a son of Ch.Millhill Le Frere and our own beautiful Brantwood Fleurie - Toddy is as delightful to live with as he is to look at. He is heart and eye tested and is available at limited stud to selected young ladies. Toddy has won well at Open Shows with many Best of Breed awards, he has also been shown sparingly at championship shows with wins and places and hopefully now that we have more time, he will continue his winning ways.

Our First Export

We are pleased and proud to introduce Hamish, American Champion Brantwood Bollinger (imp.uk). This fabulous little tri colour is the result of a repeat mating between Ch.Millhill Le Frere and our beautiful Brantwood Fleurie. Hamish has taken up residence in Denver Colerado.
