we’ve done more practice, in crate, crate door shut, shut boot and wait, open again treat…

did plenty of that then.. did the same as above but got in front of car.. and out again and opened boot, treat…
more of that and then same with engine starting

and then we took him on a little trip round the garage in the car

    only one tiny peep  ;D

We must have looked bonkers  😀

thought I’d update.. he’s been in it a few times now and is absolutely fine  ;D really pleased  ;D
Not sure if crate is too small tho  :-\ he can sit up and turn round, but standing is harder cause he has to lower his head… but then, he doesn’t stand for long, usually lies down…. not sure whether to look out for a bigger one…? The next size up at petsathome was MASSIVE tho  😮
we got him this one: http://www.petsathome.com/find/keyword-is-dog+crate/product-is-V00083

    dimensions:  Large – 91 x 61 x 71cm

Under the Animal Welfare Act he has to have a cage big enough for him to stand in as well as lay down comfy  ;D Have you tried Hamster cages?

Why not a guard instead of a cage you could always add a safety door on the back, personally I think you should phone the Hamster man, IMO I have a fear of dogs in cages iin the back of the car but I do have a guard behind the front seats it stops the dogs from being thrown into the front if I was to have an accident, Fritz is not a Rottie he doesn’t need the strongest of restraints he just needs to be safe
