I’m not sure whether i’m worrying over nothing, Jack says I am but I could do with some advice.
This morning when I got up and went to wake the dogs up, Oscar rolled over for a tummy rub and I noticed that his willy is a bit swollen, it was half way along and it looked like two golf balls on either side, under the skin. He’s been neutered and this was a good 3 or 4 inches away from that region.
He went out for a wee and it had gone down a bit, but there is still what looks like swelling, a bit closer to the end now though. I haven’t seen anything like this before and I don’t want to start poking around on his manly bits, but it appears to be a soft swelling and has moved from where it was earlier a bit further towards the end.
It doesn’t appear to be bothering him, but has anyone seen anything like this before?
I tend to be a bit overenthusiastic with rushing to the vet sometimes and don’t want to take him a second time this week unless it’s necessary (he has already been once with an ear injury!).
If it doesn’t go away obviously we’ll go to the vet, but what could it be?
October 21, 2009 at 1:59 pm #87631kerrie and stanMemberStan worried me when he had this to start with, val and bev (kizkiznobite) told me that it was nothing to worry about and that it was normal. i still ended up taking him to the vet and they told me the exact same thing.
so from what has been said to me, i wouldnt worry about it 😉October 21, 2009 at 2:12 pm #87632melindaMemberThanks Kerrie that’s such a relief!
I’ve never seen anything like it before, worried me sick this morning when I first noticed. Do you know what it actually is?

Uh-Oh…. Simba is due in season soon and she gets very…. ‘randy’ when her hormones kick in…. I thought it wouldn’t be a problem because Oscar has had the snip…
Do you think I may have some inappropriate activities happening in my house?! :nono:

I’ve been poking about and Oscar must be thinking :what:
It’s still a bit swollen, 48 hours on!
Ah well, never mind and i’ll leave the poor boy alone.
What’s made it weird for me is that i’ve had male dogs before and NEVER noticed anything like this…. and they were all entire
