Do you know anyone with a horse?
You can buy BIG tubs of the stuff from equestrian suppliers, they use it as a Poultice for sore joints so if you do know anyone they may be able to spare you a little bit

Old fashioned chemist rather than modern pharmacy is what you need.  Try ringing round.  😉

Nope no-one with a horse, although there is a pet shop close which specialises in horsey stuff so a possibility, Ill give them a ring tommorow.

Piglet – is the lasinosh the brestfeeding cream?  I could get that in boots tommorow.

Is vasaline any good for tonight?  My dad suggested flour and water mixed into a thick paste  ???

    hi,

yep it is – it is pure lanolin in a tube but i’ll warn you now its quite expensive to buy.  if the boots has a pharmacy it’d be worth asking the pharmacist to see if they stock lanolin / kaolin there.

the other place i have found that has lasinosh is mothercare just incase you need to know – either that or any friends that have b/f recently that you could snaffle it off as its not like you can really “pass it on” for b/f – feels too wierd lol !!

“patient uk” website suggests that you can get Kaolin on prescription for dodgy tums so i would have thought somewhere like boots pharmacy would stock or get it in for you.

    Kaolin poultice – available here
    http://www.tackdirect.co.uk/prod_show.asp?id=136

    Kaolin mixture – here
    http://www.pointpharmacy.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=5276&cat=0&page=1

it is a standard product (suffixed by BP) so any chemist / pharmacy should be able to order in – mixture AND poultice.

p.s. just found out what lanolin actually *IS* sooo pleased i didnt know this before !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ever so much for looking that up for me, I should be able to get it somewhere, and if all else fails just found a tub on ebay for horses  😉

I remember people mentioning lanolin for washing wool covers and longies when used in conjunction with washable nappies  😀
