Really diesel?? you dont have pet insurance – omg id be homeless right now if i didnt have it – so far ive had a bill for £220 for fletcher at easter, then one for about £157 for manny a few weeks back – plus what ever this bill for the eyes will come to!!! never mind the £250 i had to spend for honeys op – and shes NOT insured!!!

Diesel thankfully hes insured- and insured for life with this policy…….which will be good if its an ongoing thing!!!

Val, hes been aving the drops since monday afternoon – no real improvement – still gloppy almost green yuk , not constant but its there……i must admit im a little bit concerned that its not cleared yet…….

Fletch had his check up today – they confirmed he has a mild infection in both eyes, so he has drops for that – unfortunately they also confirmed the lower tear ducts arnt flushing through – and they should be , the tearing on his face is worse and def no better. She put some dye in and left it but nope – they tried to flush it through with water from a needle ( a thin rubber one lol) but she couldnt see hole properly said its all very tight in there which is unusual apparently, anyway she tried but eventually he just had enough and was getting quite upset ( hes been so good too we didnt push it i dont want him hating his eyes/face being touched¬!)

so he goes back monday and they will check to see if if they are working as it might be the infection thats blocking them – if not they will probably have to sedate him and flush them through whiles hes under and see whats going on.

🙁 the bill must be pushing £1000 now!!

Me too diesel – im sure it will be fine its really fairly minor surgery but i will still worry – he will have a great time he loves the vets!!

Val im going to pm you……

in reply to: not the best news #88838

Well the vet said making new tear ducts is fiddly but no reason he wont be fine after – but well always that risk isnt it putting them under and hes such a baby and i know its stupid but the more i found out he has wrong the more blinking attached i get to the daft little bugger!!

Ohhh thank you Val its that kind of info i need – ive met lots of nice american cocker people BUT at the same time many have put me off ever wanting another!

would it be possible to have a chat to your friend as and when im ready??

iz i did wonder about a TT but they are so frickin noisy!!! i dunno not sure i want a dog with that much hair either…..

in reply to: next year #104600

Izzie ive thought about it but to be honest, from what ive seen of the breed i really dont think a lowchen would be suitable.

And no no shelties they not my cuppa tea sorry……

id say a maltese is too small – having said that i quite fancy a long haired dach- though maybe standard, or a griffon !
